A first glimpse of a bunch of tattoed, motorcycle-riding men gave the impression that they were rough and not to be messed with. Later only did I find out that they actually had a furry soft spot, literally. They were known as Rescue Ink collectively.
These men, big and burly, rescue neglected animals and abused ones too. One of the founding members, Joe Panz, grew up in Queens county, New York, a notorious neighbourhood in which he was shot five times. In those times, the only one he turned to was his Rottweiler who stayed by his side all day long. It was then Joe had realized animal’s loyalty. AndRescue Ink was established in return of a favor.
Rescue Ink has almost 10 members from its founders to members. Despite some of the members brutal pasts, they receive endless calls from their local neighbourhood if they suspect any act of abuse or neglect is happening nearby. They have come to recognize the mens good deads and praise them for it.
As Joe Panz told Good Morning America, Rescue Ink goes where no other rescue team goes. They also educate the owners if they think the owners are mishandling their pets. Rescue Ink does not sneakily take away abused pets without the owner knowing, but they confront the issue and point out the obvious.
The men have rescued animals from a tiny Maltese up to 2 foals up to date. They believe that animals, like humans, deserve second chances as they cannot speak for themselves. And so it is organizations like them help unfortunate animals to live up to a fighting chance for survival.
Hats off to these men!
